Textbooks: Who needs them?

Textbooks: Who needs them?

Textbooks are a scam.  They’re not written by the “authors” but by graduate students getting paid by the word.  Could be why the AP World History text my school uses has factual errors in it.  Getting rid of textbooks would I hope discourage the all-too-prevalent culture of teaching the book to students and encourage teachers to broaden their content knowledge and take ownership of their curriculum.

  1. If the image is an example of a textbook it would be heading straight for my bin! In Spanish there is a phrase, -“desde libros de texto a libros detesto”- “from text books to I detest books.” Makes too much sense unfortunately!
