Obama once reportedly told his aides that it “turns out I’m really good at killing people.”
The president added, “Didn’t know that was gonna be a strong suit of mine.”
…Like killing a sixteen year old boy. Something to brag about. I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised, yet I couldn’t believe how many critical responses I got for my recent essay on art–all because I’d dared to criticize Obama. I don’t understand the motivation of these political simpletons. Brand loyalty, I guess. Maybe it’s fear–if he doesn’t get a free pass then the OTHER side might take power and that would be even WORSE. Wake up, fools: it’s all the same brand, the monopoly of Transnational Global Capital. Obama’s no hero, ho knight in shining armor, no last great hope. He’s a killer who brags about killing little kids. But unlike other killers he kills with a pen and his minions with a joystick.
Glenn Greenwald and Jeremy Scahill have written a new story about just how clueless and inept our drone war has become. Instead of killing “enemies” based on human intelligence, they use computers to track cell phones and drop bombs with machines. Nice, mechanical and anti-septic. Except these moral imbeciles have no way of determining who is on the end of that naughty cell phone, the “bad guy” or a grandmother or kid.
What Obama is doing–what those who support him are doing–is morally indefensible.
